In June this year, 17 Leighton Buzzard YFC members completed the Three Peaks Challenge in 22 hours and 51 minutes. The challenge involved ascending and descending the highest mountains in England (Scafell), Scotland (Ben Nevis) and Wales (Snowdonia) in under 24 hours.
Through our hard work and commitment to the challenge and hosting fundraising events through the year we have raised a grand total of:
£17,386.84
This will go to two amazing charities, Florence Nightingale Hospice and KidsOut. We exceeded our original target and are extremely grateful for your support. The money will be split equally between the charities and will be donated at the end of the year.
We would like to thank Browns, our principle sponsor, who supplied clothing to our walkers and more importantly provided vehicles to allow us to travel between the mountains, along with all our main sponsors.
We would also like to thank our three drivers, Richard Heady, John Webb and Mark Thorne, for giving up their time to drive over 1,200 miles. We are incredibly grateful to everyone else who has supported our fundraising efforts. Without your support we would not have raised such an incredible amount for two local charities.
We also can’t forget our brilliant walkers who showed commitment, determination and team spirit to complete the challenge and raise an incredible amount of money.
Thank you all for your support towards Leighton Buzzard Young Farmers and our chosen charities for 2017 – Florence Nightingale Hospice and KidsOut.
