This used to be an Olympic sport but now it’s just reserved for 8 young farmers on competition day, or 6 for a junior team. There are three entries for each club; Woman, Men and juniors – this can be made up of boys and girls.

Each team has a weight limit and the combined total of all the members must be under this number. Leighton Buzzard are lucky enough to have their own coach in the form of Robert ‘Trigger’ Dickens and a fully working training gantry that they can practice with before all they major pulls. We have a history of doing very well in this competition and have got through to the county final with both out ladies and gents team in 2013.

Clubs that cannot provide a full team can use extra members from other clubs to make up a scratch team.
